Wastegate & Geometry Repair

The wastegate and variable geometry control boost pressure. When they stick or are set wrong, the engine loses power or goes into limp mode.

How VGT works

In a variable geometry turbo the vanes change angle so the turbo delivers the right boost at both low and high rpm. Soot and carbon make the vanes stick, which triggers P0299 (underboost) or P0234 (overboost) codes.

Calibration on Geotest

Geotest has a database of more than 4,800 test plans for different turbos and a built-in TI 101 tester. The geometry is set to factory parameters, not by eye.
